Introduction

The Tees CVL was developed following the very successful 'in house' CVL run by Game Time during 2008. James Thomson of Game Time put forward a proposal to the Teesside Basketball League to run a bigger CVL in association with TBL to attract more teams, resulting in more competition for junior players and ultimately encouraging more youngsters into the game.

The lack of junior opportunities in the area has been a highlighted concern for a number of years and the TBL executive committee, of which James Thomson is junior development officer voted unanimously in support of the Game Time proposals.

The renaming of Game Time CVL to Tees CVL fits nicely with the Tees schools and college developments and a number of associates including TBL, Middlesbrough College and Middlesbrough Lions are assisting in various ways to the development.

The CVL has three categories, of which there are U12, U16 & U18 age groups.

Mission Statement

Game Time will aim to develop a safe and secure environment in which to allow young basketball enthusiasts to play competitive games. Game Time with assistance from its partners will seek to steadily increase both players and teams participating in the events and also aim to develop opportunities for female teams in the near future.

Registration

Teams must register their full team list with full player names, ages and uniform number one week prior to the event. Failure to do so will result in points deduction from league standings and possible playing restrictions. It is vital that the organisers have this info to prepare score sheets before the events and ensure time is not wasted at the event. Each category can accommodate up to ten teams.
