A celebrity basketball game will take
place on Sunday 4th May at Eston Sports
Academy. The match between the Game Time
professionals and a team of celebrities
including Alastair Brownlee, Kirby & Fallon
and Principul will be the showcase game of a
full day of basketball on the 1,200 capacity
main Court at Eston Sports Academy.
Keep checking www.game-time.co.uk for
further updates, with more celebrity names
to be announced. A competition will also be
run for children 14 and under. Two lucky
winners will win the opportunity to actually
play in the game, with one winner playing
for the Game Time team and the other playing
for the Celebrity team. Keep checking
www.game-time.co.uk for further details.
The celebrity game is scheduled to begin at
4pm and spectators are advised to arrive
early, around 3pm to ensure good seats.
Tickets go on sale on Wednesday 16th April
and are only £3 for an all day pass, which
allows entry to all games, including the
Celebrity game. Organiser, James Thomson
added "We have kept the fee at a low cost to
encourage a higher attendance. We want to
make this an annual event that will put
basketball on the map. It would be great to
see as many people as possible watching the
schools finals, the kids feel like
superstars!"
The event will also include the Tees Schools
League County Cup Finals from 11am. The Tees
Schools League has been a massive success
since Game Time took over the development
and management of the League this season. It
is regarded as one of the best and most
promoted schools sports league in the
country and has led to a massive surge in
basketball participation in the area and
more schools wanting to be involved in next
season's campaign.
Spectators are encouraged to arrive as early
as possible and support the schools teams in
their quest for glory. The all day pass
includes entry to all games throughout the
event.
Game Time have teamed up with Mecca Bingo
and Decorative Concrete Solutions to promote
the event and support the Whizz Kidz
Charity. It will be a great day of fun and
entertainment and organisers are hoping to
attract as big a crowd as possible in the
1,200 capacity venue.
